Andrew Marshall

Your Tribute

Words can’t begin to express the loss of our son Andy and what he means to us. His adventurous outgoing approach to life, his amazing sense of humour, his contagious laugh and beautiful smile. He loved to try new things always testing himself against others and against himself. He loved sports, cricket, golf, surfing, mountain biking, table tennis just about anything that presented itself. Like running in the Anaconda multi sports event in Perth with a team of mates. He was a talented and passionate drummer, playing in a Christian rock band in New Zealand, EOD (End of Discussion) for a number of years and then for Rich Widow in Perth.

He’d tapped on anything and everything ever since he was little – rhythm was in his blood. It was a noisy musical household growing up. He was full of life and so much fun to be around, we miss him so much every day, the heartache is always close at hand. He loved his family and being around his brother and sister and extended family. Our times together just aren’t the same any more. He was a very special young man, so full of life. Although he was outgoing and funny, Andy had a loving and caring, thoughtful and sensitive nature. He has truly left his mark on our lives and we carry him with us every day. Hope keeps us strong, we know we will see him again.

Our beautiful brother, brother in law and uncle, words can not do justice the loss and hurt we have felt for losing you and for the future and memories we wanted to share with you. However no one can ever take away the memories we created, the 29 years we did have together and the love we have for you.
The photo I have added was a treasured moment I had on our last holiday together. I sat on the beach and watched Andy and Dan surfing up at the Mount and in that moment was so grateful and blessed. It is a moment I will never forget and hold close to my heart.

Drummer Andy, as our boy remembers him. We loved him like a brother and he will always be thought of as that. Alan and Wendy mention his laugh which is what we always think of as well. And then there was his expressions. "Flip" was one of them. Him and Mike used to think they were going to be the next best thing in stunt motor bike riding, calling themselves the Crusty Christians. The photo I have included is Andy in full flight. Note, no safety gear and gum boots on. Yip, that was Andy! Always on our minds.
